Yes it truly was a brilliant last term across our groups, with some fantastic performances, really nice songs and arrangements, great solos and lots of fun socially!
Our Glasgow Voice of the Town choir followed up their first performance at the East Kilbride Arts Centre in May with a host of gigs, including a charity fundraiser for the Scottish Cot Death Trust, a superb performance at the Cottier Theatre, Glasgow and then two appearances as part of David Greig’s award winning play The Events, firstly at the Traverse Theatre for Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival and then at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow. It was the first term with the group’s new MD, Madaleine Pritchard, and things couldn’t have gone any better. Bring on the new term, which begins in Glasgow on Wednesday October 2nd. And it was a brilliant term too for Voice of the Town Newcastle. With loads of new songs, an extra 3 rehearsals added to the schedule, and a few social nights thrown in for good measure, the group had an absolute ball! And with the term culminating in a hugely exciting performance at the Sage Gateshead on September 4th, with profits and funds going to the NSPCC via the Caoimhe Mary Harris Tribute Fund, it really was a special end to our term. Our Newcastle choir also had the pleasure of performing at a beautiful private wedding service for a lovely couple in Hexham.
So we’ve had a brilliant term with lots of new members, exciting gigs for various events and charities, and loads of new songs! Why not check out what we’ve been getting up to by stopping by our photo gallery and what we do pages, where you’ll find some great shots and videos of us in action! And watch this space for more video from our Sage and Cottier performances soon…
